Im considering moving to an Allroad and that would mean selling my avant. I've owned it for 1.5 years.
2002 A4 Avant Quattro, Dolphin Gray with Platinum Interior, 1.8T
212k miles but it is one of the cleanest high mileage cars u will find.
I purchased at 192K.
Key Maintenance:
- Control arms kit around 180K
- Power steering pump at 185K
- Valeo single mass clutch kit 175K
- Serp belt, tensioner, and idler pulley at 195K
- Valve cover gasket, spark plugs, thermostat & housing, both coolant temp switches, AC condensor at 200K
- Timing belt, water pump, tensioner at 198K
- Engine mounts (B5 RS4) and snub mount (ECS), clutch slave, throw out bearing at 205K
Mods:
- 02X GJV 6 speed transmission swap from 05 A4 (trans, rear diff, driveshaft, front axles, shifter). Trans and rear diff drained and filled with Fuchs sintofluid. Donor parts had 148K. Shifts perfect.
- APR stealth catback exhaust. Exhaust bought used but used a brand new replacement downpipe (and flex joint) from APR.
- S4 door blades (color matched)
- USP front valance and grills (color matched)
- B7 center console
- Symphony II+ with aux
- S4 cluster with color DIS
- OEM 02 sport suspension with B5 perches
- Morimoto 5000K xenon bulbs in OEM Xenon lights
- 05 climate control with off button
- 18" RS4 replica wheels with OEM center caps and Kumho PA31 all season tires (new in August). Have OEM RS4 wheel with good Kumho tire as a spare. Wheels have some scratches and marks but very light.
- B7 Aero wipers for the front and Q7 aero wiper for the rear
Condition Notes:
-Interior is very clean, carpet has some stains and marks but most are hidden by OEM rubber weather mats.
-Drivers seat has a crack in the usual spot.
-Front and Rear seats are heated
-Glove box is ORIGINAL AND NOT BROKEN
-There are NO peeling buttons or switches.
-AC blows cold
-Mechanically everything works as it should, doesn't leak or burn a drop of oil. No CEL. I bought the car in Maine and drove it back to Chicago. I have driven it everyday to work 40 miles round trip since I have owned it. Never broke down or left me stranded. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. I did all the work myself, and planned on keeping it for many years.
The only reason I'm considering selling is my wife and I just had our first kid, and with the baby seat, stroller, two small dogs, it gets cramped very quickly and we regularly drive to Michigan and back (400 miles round trip).
-Paint is OEM, 7/10. There are some minor little dings, I can think of 3 off the top of my head.
-Windshield has a dime sized chip, but it is not in the direct view while driving and hasn't spread since I bought the car.
-Drivers side rear bumper has a spot on the corner that looks like it was bumped lightly (spider cracks). It's not very noticeable and I was planning on either repainting the whole rear bumper or putting on and S4 or USP rear bumper.
-The rear trunk area is a bit beat up, the side panels and trunk panel have some stains/marks.
-I have the original manuals and both working remote keys.
I was thinking of asking a firm $6K, as I would prefer a quick sale if I do decide to sell.
Fair price? Let me know what you guys think. I know the miles are high, but the car is way cleaner than 99% of B6's out there and it is mechanically sound. The engine has never been modified or tuned as far as I can tell. When I did the exhaust I checked turbo shaft play and it felt tight, very minimal play.
I WILL NOT PART IT OUT. I did a part out over the summer and refuse to part out any more so don't ask.
Here's the pics I have on hand at the moment. Top two are most recent.
