Moving to central Jersey area

Hey guys need some advise - tips on lowered cars. Moving to the central Jersey area within the next 2 or 3 weeks coming up. Both wife's car ( coilovers ) and my lowered ( air ride )
How's the roads in the area ?
Any advise welcome

Roads are ty up here. Full of potholes. Usually people to max height for winter.

One could accurately describe the roads throughout the northeast as "Afghanistan quality." Definitely crank those coils up for the winter, if your air ride is a mild drop you should be good though.

OP, are you slammed? FWIW I've always raised my B5 whenever I swap my winter wheels. The b8.5 is stock height right now but I plan on switching to winter wheels as well to protect the 19's from plow damaged roads (if it ever snows, as it's un-seasoanbly warm right now).

Thank you vwblackb5 for the reply, yes wife car is pretty much slammed on coilovers and was concern if I had to raised the car before we shipped it up, my Allroad is set up with Accuair so I'll be fine there with it


On a side note, how's the car scene there on spring - summer time ?

Omar, its a mix. A lot of nice cars, a lot of ricers. You should post photos of your Allroad :), its way too nice to daily in the winter and ruin it!

I live in Jersey City, the part I live at is a pretty affluent section. Unfortunately the roads that I to get home aint . I travel thru many of the less affluent towns. IE Newark,Elizabeth,Jersey City,Hillside,Paterson,Passaic, you get the drift. Its got pot holes the size of craters on the moon. Ill suck in your 19 inch rims like a cop on a doughnut break.

Alot of local meets. Plenty up by us. a few european cars only club\meets. Plenty of ricers.

Generally speaking, roads around morristown aren't too bad compared to other places in the state. Roads in morristown itself, eh some good some not so good.
Also, as a heads up Morristown is considered North Jersey. As for what's the border between North and Central Jersey....that's a whole other debate.
But welcome to the area!

I live in central-ish NJ (Northern Burlington county). The roads are (mostly) not great, although there are plenty of nice driving routes around me... that said, I have a very aggressively stances RS5 and have had no issues. Just know your route, know your roads.

You are lucky to be moving here during a spell of unusually mild weather. Unfortunately, after you arrive winter is supposed to finally make her entrance and likely hang around until late March. Good luck with the move.

The roads mostly suck, but after the past two winters, many towns have been working on improving the quality. We have a ton of customers very low/slammed, so its manageable. Car scene is pretty solid, lots of cars and coffee type events, lots of Euro meets (Show and Go, Waterfest, H2O not too far away). This AZ Tristate board (and Vortex, as well) are pretty active, so that's always a good indicator.

Morristown is a great area; there are some solid driving roads through Harding/Mendham/Bernardsville, and neither of our locations are too far away

damn this car looks sweet !! i used to work in summit and chatam area. make sure you check out that italian deli on main street in madison. they have amazing tomato soup!
