    HELP P2138 LIMP mode

Hey guys. I've tried searching for the answer to my car problems and never found a solid solution on this forum or others. My 2.0t will occationally (weekly) throw on the cel epc and traction control light. The car will then go into limp mode until i turn it off and back on praying its gone. So far i've replaced the throttle body. Wiring from the throttle body to the ecu. Throttle position senser. Wiring kit from pedal assembly to the ecu. Cleaned the maf sensor. Now im considering replacing the ecu. I have a stage 2 apr tune w/ apr test pipe and carbonio cai. I know others have had this problem but theres never a confirmed solution. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

There a few causes of P2138. One possibility is that there are cracks/shorts in the O2 sensor wiring or in the connection between the O2 sensor wiring and ECU wiring. Faulty O2 sensor can cause this code. Another possibility is one/both of the sensors in the accelerator pedal are bad. You can use VCDS if you have it to check if the sensors are reporting correctly.

I had this issue a while ago. First tried a different accelerator pedal but ultimately it was cracked wiring in the O2 sensor.

Are you refering to the o2 sensor in the test pipe? I thought that was mainly for emmisions.

Primary/Front O2 sensor wiring shorts or breaks will cause this CEL
