LOL you serious? for 700$ just get an apr tune.

the only benefit i see is that it claims it does not alter the original ECU, so if someone had a brand new car and still had warranty they could use this without getting flagged.

Exactly why i'm asking cuz my car is still on warranty until oct. 2017 !
I know that APR or GIAC tunes are better but i don't want my warranty to be void....

If you don't want to alter your base engine management software, and risk warranty deletion, this is probably your only option available, but for the cost and gains, it's a bit steep IMO.
