2010s were all B8. The B8.5s started for the 2013 model year. If you have a listing and feel like sharing it, everyone here would be happy to provide some guidance on pricing and advice on any issues we may notice.

Main focus questions for my own personal knowledge growth and help me determine if I want an AR or not.

** What type of performance venders does the B8/8.5 market have?

    APR?
    GIAC?
    JHM?
    AWE?
    034?
    Others?

** What type of cookie cutter ECU programs are out there for the B8/8.5?

** Do these programs also incorporate tuning for e85?
    - also, how beneficial is e85 for these programs, as in can a "stage 1" remap reap the performance with no supporting mods?
    - what's all the fuss about e85, does it really bring that much "potential" to the 2.0?

** Is there a big turbo option for the 2.0?

** Catback systems, full and partial, what are they and who provides (reference the first info-dot)?
    - is the 2.0 Exhaust setup like years previous with DPs to CBs or is it divided into downpipes, mid-pipes and cat-back?
    - are 3" downpipes beneficial to the 2.0 or is it all just for noise?

    ** What's the possibility of swapping in a 3.0T?

** For those that have owned the 2.0 for a bit, does it leave you longing for more?

    Hello all,

So I've been looking at Audi lately, originally looking at BMW's but price wise Audi CPO's are more affordable. Anyone have any suggestions/info I should know before jumping into one?
My biggest concern/worry in all these (luxury) cars is the maintenance/cost of repairs. I'm looking into an A4 2016 as I'd rather have as much warranty as possible.

    Any info is appreciated......

Ehh I guess your right but I'd think someone who leases for 2 years drives the car with some respect. Loaners on the other hand... Haha. But honestly you have like 6 years /100k miles to get any issues fixed. Do you plan on modding at all?

Haven't thought that far into it yet... Maybe, kinda just trying to get as much info on the car in general first.
The reliability & maintenance is my only concern at the moment. I read that the maintenances weren't covered with the warranty whereas BMW I think it was?

A vast majority of cars in the 2-3 year old range were originally leased and taken care of pretty well. My suggestion pile be to shoot for a 2013 or 2014 car which had been leased. And the dealer SHOULD tell you if it was a loaner, but YMMV. Tread with caution when looking at 2015/2016 cars.

It isn't technically included but most dealers give people a good deal on Audicare (which covers maintenance until the 45k service) if they purchase it when they lease. Ask if a given car you're looking at has Audicare remaining and then you'll know it was serviced on schedule. Also, Audi dealers report services to Carfax.

Thanks Quattro, I actually found a 2016 with 17 miles on it. What does a regular service run money wise more or less?
I only want the newer models because a 2013 for instance would only have roughly 2-3 yrs of warranty left. If I had nothing to worry about repair/maintenance wise I would definitely
    do it.

A 2016 new? That's nothing to worry about, obviously. A regular service is somewhere in the $2-300 range at the dealership, but when you buy they'll offer you Audicare which is like $800 and is definitely worth it. Then you wouldn't need to worry about repairs or maintenance for 4 years 50k miles.

Definitely agree on Audi Care; however, a "regular service" - if that is a basic oil change should be no more than $100.

Let's say it were to be something else?
I kind of just want to have an idea of what I can/should be expecting and how often.

You'll save a few hundred bucks by getting Audicare, if you keep the car that long. For the Q3 we just got my girlfriend, they wanted $800 for Audicare and the services that it covers would be something like $1200, total.

This ^^. If you were to individually purchase the services that Audicare covers at the dealer, it will cost you around $400 more.

    Hi All,

New to the forum and hoping for some new buyer advice on used A4's; namely B8's. Are ppl getting PPI's like with other lux. cars, or are the main things covered, like the Oil issue? Think I may have found a good candidate but maybe it's too good to be true???

    Thanks for the help!

That seems extremely cheap. Do you have a URL? We can check it over.

The oil issue is usually covered up to about 100k miles but YMMV. At that age and price I'd probably get a PPI just to be safe.

Yeah. Also considering it's a bit of a trek to get to the seller, i'd have better piece of mind driving back knowing that I would make it....

Been a while since I checked the packages, but that car looks to be a premium as opposed to a premium plus as I though the latter came equipped with Navigation and the color screen in the dash - his is red. Yes, does have xenon, but he could have installed those himself as some members did. Yeah, pricing looks okay, I guess, but why is he trying to move at a discount. Again, would need to check options what the Premium Plus came with for MY 2011 but something, to me, just seems a bit off with the listing.

Audi actually did offer the Titanium package on non-S line cars. I drive a 2011 Ibis A4 Avant Prestige non-S line with the Titanium Sport Package (19" rotors, black grille, window trim and roof rails, sport front seats and steering wheel, sport suspension, shift paddles, piano black inlays and black headliner).

I purchased the car used, and definitely prefer S line over non-S line, but the Titanium Sport Package was priority No. 1 for me.

That price seems a little low for a car that is in good shape. I'd post in the tri-state regional section and see if anyone in NYC can check it over for you.

Again, would need to check options what the Premium Plus came with for MY 2011 but something, to me, just seems a bit off with the listing.
That's a Prem+, the tri-zone climate control gives it away. Premiums have only 1 zone. But I agree, that seems like too much car for the money. Either something is amiss or it's the deal of the century.

I purchased the car used, and definitely prefer S line over non-S line, but the Titanium Sport Package was priority No. 1 for me.
I'll update that, I just found out that a friend of mine has a similar car.

You are absolutely right. In fact I also had a 2011 Audi a5 with the titanium package no s -line. That was the only year that this was offered without that combination. And again the same for me I had to have the titanium package over the S line. Since it was the only year that it was offered like this I figured it wouldn't make a big difference and would probably confuse some people.

Got ya. Yeah, the Titanium (Black Optics now) looks great. And you know, I'm probably the minority, but I prefer the full leather seats over the Alcantera seats that come with S line. I've seen some Alcantera wear pretty poorly. That's probably the only thing I don't like about S line.

Black headliner observations I've noticed while shopping for a B8 A4:

The black headliner comes on all Titanium (aka Black Optics) Sport Package equipped cars. But I've also seen it on non-Titanium cars, if the car has both the Sport Package and S-Line Package. Cars with only the Sport Package or only the S-Line Package, but not both, still have the light gray headliner. The "Titanium" option can be had with or without the S-Line Package, but is only an addition to the Sport Package. In other words, all Titanium cars have the Sport Package.

Performance-wise I'm not sure, but aesthetically essentially everything which fits a 2.0T will also work for your car. The stickied threads on suspension and wheels and tires should be of interest, and the "What did you do to your B8 today" thread will also give you a ton of ideas. Prepare for your bank account to start suffering...

Generally speaking yes, modern Audis are very reliable. First model year cars merit some caution but after that it should be fine. S3s are a little smaller inside than S4s, but the difference isn't huge. Personally I love them. They'll occasionally pop up CPO in the low- to mid-$40s: you may as well just buy new.

Good Luck! I'm sure theres somebody out there that wants to make the opposite trade as you! You should include some basic information though for somebody just perusing around.

What other issues has anybody had with there 09 2.0T . I want to go thru everything and have it addressed. I already have a new turbo and DV, assuming some kind of stage 1 or 2 for oil consumption. as mine dosent burn thru any oil. i plan on getting a new water pump as i have a small leak. but is there anything major that i should be looking into as preventive maintenance

Looking for some input. Currently have a deposit on the following: http://www.paulmilleraudi.com/used/A...a6d12bea96.htm

If I am correct that is an B8.5 based on the initial post. New to the Audi Numbering Scheme. Can do a CPO Warranty if I wanted. Is it worth it? Thoughts? I have read the stories of those who had engine re-builds but wondering if most people who post on other forums have complaints versus praises so skewed. I got an Acura so post on Acurazine for the same reason I posted here on Audizine, which is the people on these forums are a more reliable source on info. Especially since you guys respects your cars so are more of an indicator of cars reliability.

Depends what you want to do with it and what they'll charge you for the warranty. If you'll be tuning it, don't bother with a warranty since it'll disappear anyway. If you want to leave it mechanically stock, or don't have the cash laying around for repairs, then a warranty will be nice for peace of mind.

I would STRONGLY urge you not to get a Premium trim level call without the lighting package... If your budget allows for it, stretch to a Prem+ or a lighting package Premium, at least. Those headlights are expensive to retrofit.

This is one, which also has 18 inch wheels:

If you're pretty fixed on that price point, I'd even go back to a B8 to get factory HIDs:
