So how does someone get information on becoming a banner advertiser on AZ. Over the last year or two we have sent numerous emails and PMs but have not got a response. I am not saying I personally would do it but my business partner is ready.

Personally, I dont think it is unfair to cut the people than earn their keep around here helping others (like you guys) a little slack, and I do think they do this a little already.

The advertisers that just come in and spam the forum a few times a week with "Bump" should be banned. If you aint got nothing good to say, dont say anything sort of thing.
These lazy mofos are just stinking the place up like vwvortex. I used to peek in there every now and again, but when 3/4 of the first page is bs "Bump" ads, no thank you.

I think the best advertiser here is eurocollective. Dude does a great job at keeping his stuff toward the top, without creating an eyesore.
Hell, I look at their posts regardless of whether or not I am looking to buy anything. lol

I have really tried not to push sales here till we could get an advertiser status and like you and rockcandy I think we do contribute to AZ quite a bit. But it looks like somehow we have crossed a line because threads have been locked. Like rockcandy we have quite a few Audi related products ready to be released that fill needs that are not available. Getting rate cards from other publications and sites are easy. I am not sure if AZ has rates or a rate card that is standardized.

Not surprised, audizine is just a business and they want to keep their friends making all the money from the Audi community so they can keep making money off advertising fees. Less competition in the Audi aftermarket keeps them happy. they also pay Google (Google ad words iirc) so they show up on all the searches. I try and look up anything on Google and all I get is search results for AZ, again directing all traffic to the site and to the paid advertisers.

The pattern has been there for years. It is a privately owned site so complaining will do you no good. However it is sometimes odd to me the random fly by night multi make type businesses they do occasionally allow on board. I believe the old rule was you had to be a full time open to the public audi or euro type business and be brick and mortar. That has obviously changed over the years and now it's just owners discretion.

I could see it being a tougher decision if the new products were similar to an existing advertisers products.
Sucks to be on the wrong end, but makes sense to put your long term customers first.

Would think Bob should be a no brainer. His stuff is unique, and I dont think anybody else does anything similar.

that has to do with your constant travel on AZ. all google searches are tailored to the individual based on your browse history. if youre on here everyday and google anything audi related it will bring you here because it knows you like this site. all google searches will bring you back to sites youve visited before.
just like everyone will get differant results for googling the same thing based on past browser history.

Yes I don't think it has to do with bricks and mortar or anything like that. We are bricks and mortar and will soon be international bricks and mortar. It more has to even being able to start a dialogue. With no rate card or response to enquirers how could possible advertisers even be screened? There are long standing bricks and mortar companies that have not been able to get responses and on the other hand there are advertisers that are operating out of one bedroom residential condos.

It may be that AZ management is busy with other jobs or businesses. AZ has always been a great forum for Audi enthusiasts but the news sections and featured sections rarely get updated.

Once again i highly doubt that the theory that AZ is being stopped by other advertisers is exaggerated a bit. I have been contacted by exiting, small and large, advertisers asking if they could help out in any way. I thank those that have stepped up.

I'm not claiming to know his motives but I bet a lot goes into every decision to try and keep everyone happy. I would be a million bucks other advertisers have a say in all of it. There is most certainly an advertisers forum on this site only visible to them. There is also obviously a mod forum. A lot of decisions about everything with this site go down right in those two places for a fairly wide scope of people to be involved in. Over the years people have spiled screen grabs from each with some hilarious stuff.

I wouldn't take your lack of response personal or think on it at all really. Just keep emailing Anthony or admin at audizine.com if you really want to give him money and actually think you need to for your business to grow or whatever.

Why not just focus on facebook? Very affordable and effective marketing. Facebook groups, those properly moderated have killed the car forums in regards to popularity and accessibility. Most companies get away without paying a dime and make a big splash on social media.

I have started to move over to the social media side of marketing something that I have been putting off for years. I am surprised by the number of great companies that I have used only use facebook.

Maybe just put up better pics so paying advertisers can rip off your designs. Then the forums users can still buy them although they will probably be lower quality and have weird names with numbers in them. Because that has never happened here...
