T-Mobile prepaid sim for Audi Connect (5GB for 150 days for $10)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently took advantage of the free sim from T-Mobile for tablets and was able to get 5GB for 150 days for only $10. I am not sure if you are able to renew, but this seems to be by far the best deal out there. I tried to get the 200mb free for life, but I believe our IMEI are blocked because T-Mobile knows it is an Audi MMI system.

When you receive the sim card call the 800 number to activate it. I told them I didn't know what a IMEI was and I couldn't find it, and they activated my card. Tell them you want the free 200mb for life, they will activate and move on with the process giving you a phone number for your data account. Here is where it gets tricky, insert the sim into your MMI and connect to the wifi with tablet and proceed to www.t-mobile.com/ConnectMe. This took me a few times to get it working propoerly due to disconnects and slow loading, however eventually you will be able to type in your email and register your account. You can not do it from another source, you have to be connected through the sim to complete the setup. Once you complete the setup you will see the option for 5GB for 150 days. Enjoy!

You ROCK! I got a bunch of those sims in the last deal. Will give it a try later. 5 months for 10$ works for me.

The link is to order the sim. You can not order the service until you have the sim and connect to the internet through it.

My guess is you won't be able to renew on the 5GB for 5 months plan. However, buying a new sim is usually free or 99 cents.

    Great tip - Thank You!

The link now shows $15 for the sim card and step 2 does ask you to select a plan but step 3 doesn't charge you for it.
I did a Google search and found a deal
    http://www.t-mobile.com/landing/brin...wn-tablet.html
where you enter promo code FREESIM and it gives you the $15 back.
I tried to checkout the cart of $0.00 but it barked and wanted me to call in

Good work. I was about to plug in my $1 Tmo free-for-life 200mb/mo SIM and test it out. I have an idea that might work.

Will post later if I can get it to work.

I bought a pre-paid T-Mobil Sim, and ive tried everything to get it to work in the MMI.
No matter what i do the enter SIM pin option is greyed out, and i've tried the following APNs fast.t-mobile.com, epc.t-mobile.com
Do i need to enter a username or password? Where do i find those?

Also, i confirmed the sim does work by testing it on a tablet... internet worked fine.

    UGH.

I couldn't get free T-Mobile to work. They may identify and lock functionality by imei. I have one of the free 200mb for life T-mobile sims that I activated in my tablet...no luck in the car. I called T-Mobile and tried to go prepaid, they told me that my car's imei did not equate to an eligible device. I finally got ATT to add a sim to my family plan...all fixed.

Would you mind sharing the APN you are using? any additional details regarding the ATT sim? Did you just tell them you have a tablet that needs a sim?

APN is broadband, device is setup like a tablet. I was honest...told them I need a full sized sim for my car...I want broadband service like a tablet. It took multiple visits to find someone who would help. Most average customer service people that work in the local stores near me have no idea what I'm talking about and quickly just say no.

I'm still using the T-Mobile sim and re-upped it twice ($10 for 5gb) since.
