Okay soo i was originally going to buy an rs7 but then my wallet hit me in my face and now I cant decide between the following 3 cars. 2014 S7, 2015 M3, 2014 650i. Both the s7 and 650i would be looking at an immediate wrap and ecu tune . Keeping that in mind, and toronto winters, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I'm not trying to be a dick but you have to ask yourself for what you are looking for. S7 and 650i will never have the same driving dynamic as M3 while M3 will never be as comfortable. If you are very concerned about traction during winter, your only choice is S7 but RWD car can get by with proper winter tires setup as well if you don't do anything stupid.

All 3 very different cars- S7 has great power, impeccable interior and the holy quattro. Put a tune on it, sway bars and you are all good. 650i - I dont know what to say about it, it looks a little weird to me and every BMW has basically the same boring interior - it just changes size as the car grows. M3 is a great driver's car. Just wont be as comfortable as the other 2 like @VeryBadman said. Being an Audi owner, I might seem a little biased. But considering the fact that when I was shopping for a german luxury car, after checking out the 3 brands, I went with Audi, I think we have a great balance of everything. The best all round car is S7 out of these for me.

Forgetting for a moment the inherent differences in models you've noted. You are asking in an Audi forum if you should buy an Audi or BMW, I feel quite confidently you are going to hear Audi over and over no different then you would hear M3 all day long over on the BMW boards.

If for no other reason select the Audi based on the cars interior. Those BMW's are so dated and ugly inside and the Audi is far superior IMO.

    Won't even consider 650, I love the new M3.
If I wanted a fun car, that could be my next car, if you want mix of luxury, comfort and speed hand down on S7.
Also AWD is better suited for snow, you could easily loose traction on M3 with that much power on 2 wheels.

I'd go with the S7. We can say my opinion was based on the fact the S7 has AWD, but really I'm just an Audi fanboy. Also is your wrap intended to protect the car or change the color?

Because it costs $3,900 for an Audi exclusive color (and there are many) they quote that it will take 4-5 months from the factory, but if the dealership has an immediate allocation it can be really quick.

My Audi Exclusive S6 was ordered middle Of October and it will be on a boat heading to America in the next 4 days. Which means when I take delivery it will have been a grand total of roughly 3 months for a custom exterior color/custom spec 2016 S6.

Yeah a few of my friends told me the same thing, see what youre looking for. To be honest, curb appeal and POWER !!! Which is why the ECU tune would have to be a must on the S7. Im just going to go give the M3 a test drive, if it doesnt blow me away then s7 it is. Only thing holding me back is the price of both, 2015 m3 the same price as a 2013/14 S7? yikes. I feel as if the m3 would bite me in the ass less, couple years down the road.

Will you ever need to have adults in the back seat? Yes = S7
Toronto Winters = S7.......never heard "wow...snow is coming, better go buy an M3"
    Sexy factor = S7
    More unique = S7
Overall style and technology = S7
    Sport seats = S7
but naturally this is coming from an Audi fan boy

Saw your post in the age and occupation thread. Sounds like you chose the RS7 anyways, lets see the pictures of that bad boy.

I have a 7 series in my stable and it's probably the last bmw for me.
This company simply cannot do a good car. Their main strength is marketing and community building, which is well respected, but doesn't get you a good car.
You can call me a bmw hater, but here's a few points:

    - One of the most expensive and luxurious models (7 series) drains battery in cold weather. It's been doing it for years on 5, 6, 7 series and nobody cares. Official solutions are anything but attempt to fix the problem: replace battery with every other oil change, disconnect battery or park in a heated garage. Until this is fixed I'm definitely not buying another bavarian garbage.

    - RWD on sports car is not their special vision. It's simply their inability to design a good AWD with low center of gravity that withstands 400HP+ with sporty shifts. Marketing department jumps in to help. Of course they tell us that worse is actually better.

    - Navigation on mine is beyond horrible. Good luck finding anything in Chicago. I heard they made it better now. We shall see.

    - Eats oil like crazy. Unacceptable for a non sports car.

    - When I drive 7 series I feel like I'm driving blind. It's so big and bulky. I thought all big cars are like that until I drove an even bigger A8L, which felt compact and light.

    - In this huge luxury car you can't find a place for a glasses case. Not the slimmest case, but nothing crazy either. Just regular glasses. They don't have glasses compartment on top. Glove compartment is split in 2, so neither can fit a mid size case. Middle compartment is all filled with some 20th century non-removable phone contraption. Door pockets are too thin also. How on Earth an experienced company can design this?

    - Run flats are simply dangerous to drive on. I can show you a photo of what happened to mine after I tried to run flat for a few miles. You can argue it's not part of the car. I agree, but it's one of those decisions company makes.

Add to it what they've done to their designs after 2001 and just recently were able to fix and you'll have a company that simply does not care.
It doesn't have attention to details. It leads to poor quality control, to poor design, to poor decisions made, to overall poorly designed and built vehicles.

So I believe you've made the right choice with the RS7. :)
