    Will they fit a 2005 USP B6 1.8L?

some B6 do use D2S but most B6's use D1S type.
You might want to pull out your current bulb to find out the size.

I'm looking to change the original bulbs in my 01 C5 4.2. Would these be a good swap? How bright are they compared to OEM and colour temp?

    Cheers.

Yes, it would be a good swap.
    OEM 4300K gives 3200lm w/standard white
5000K gives 2800lm w/ pure white (actually it looks brighter than stock to me and based on what we heard from other customers)
6000K gives 2400lm w/pure white + slight tint of beautiful purplish tone (this is actually the best color that many people would agree with me)
If you want the best color, go with 6000K but if you want clean white color without losing much of brightness, go with 5000K.

    Hi,

    That's very odd.
Have you switched the bulbs around from one side to other side to see if the whiter side remains that color or if it transfers as you switch?
The last photo shows more of different beam pattern.
Did you check to make sure that the driver's side has the bulb installed/inserted correctly?
The beam pattern looks like the bulb is not inserted all the way.

    Thanks,

nope didnt do that. cant really do that either, as i did this at the garage last night and dont have the tools now. i wont be able to do that for a while.

you cant put these together without fully seating the bulb. so yes its seated correctly.

can the ballast be at fault somehow?

    Hmm.
Actually, yes you can install the bulb without fully having it seated correctly. It is actually hard to do so but it is possible.
I will send you more detail via PM.

Repeated questions we received were if 5000K bulb's capsule is 85122CX. It is actually 85122CM, which is color match bulb that is extremely rare to find.

Haha, no, most people don't care. I didn't respond because I don't have any experience with it. Try bumping it in a day or two.
