Hey guys im looking to replace my stock DV's and im on ECS tuning looking at some options, I see Forge has a new design out, the "008" instead of "007" https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4...lve/ES2224448/ if I were to purchase what you see in the link I will be adding "2" to the cart correct? Doesnt look like they sell these or others as a set and I just want to make sure....

Also if anyone has feedback on these or other aftermarket DV's please chime in!

PS: ive searched.. im looking for opinons from now 2015 not 2003-2008

Correct, you will need two, as the S4 in stock twin turbo configuration requires two of them, and they are sold individually.

as for this, not much has really changed in the diverter valve game. So those opinions of 2008 are likely still valid, aka:

710N Diverter Valve is still an affordable diaphragm alternative
Piston style still work fine so long as they are serviced
Full Vent to atomosphere style is still retarded for 99% of B5 applications (exceptions apply)

Thanks, I know it requires 2 just didnt know if their usually sold individually or what not. Also from 2008 lots of people reccomended Forge 007, ex. why I would like updated opinons that DV has been upgraded along with who knows what els changed...

For the cost, oem 710ns is where it's at. Aftermarket is great for high boost applications, but most will find 710ns to work just fine, even on most stg3s, and are a fraction of the cost of most aftermarket.

The basic design of the Forge 008 seems to be similar to the 007 with the exception of the way the two halves come together (bolts vs screw on) and being minimally more compact. Some people would go way too long between servicing and end up with trouble getting the top part unscrewed, so that is likely one reason for that change. Otherwise Forge has always had top notch customer service and stand behind their warranty (at least in my experiences). So I wouldn't think you could go wrong with it.

Other than the fact that it shows it is presently back ordered there isn't a real reason to not trust the new design. It touts that the new designs offers enhanced airflow characteristics... is that true or noticeable... maybe, I would guess its just a facelift more than anything BUT I am in no way saying that is a bad thing or a reason not to buy one. My pure "out of no where" assumption tells me the 007 and the 008 will likely preform nearly exactly the same.

Ya I also noticed many people suggested those, I guess by them looking so stock and cheap it kinda steered me away.. do they even change the sound note vs stock DV's?

Im sure they do just wasnt sure if their are any other new popular DV's manufactured out now other than the 008 (damn backorder). I see ECS is also selling the HKS SSQV kit for 2.7T now too...

None of them change the sound. Unless you put a BOV on. But I do not agree with putting one on and I'm sure most will back me up on that.

    other options include:
    710n's (inexpensive, and they work)
APR R1s (little more pricey, but require no servicing, will need to get stronger springs if running boost >25psi... AMHIK)
    Bailey (same as forge)
Synapse (very pricey, requires some setting up, but AFAIK quality stuff)

I bought some nice dv's from a member here. Hyperboost if I recall correctly. Cleaned, greased, and work just as good as ones right off the shelf for a fraction of the price. I'd check the forum classifieds first but that's just me
