    Fonrt corner LED Switchback issue

    Hello,

I got Morimoto XB LED 3157 switchback bulbs and Morimoto HD load resistors to replace the incontinent turn/running bulbs in the headlights and am having an issue. The issue is that the amber flasher doesn't work when the running lights are on. The resistor is wired between the flasher and the ground at the connector on both sides. I have the same issue on both sides. Here is a summery of everything and how it works:

Flashers on, running light off, headlights off, load resistor unplugged -> Flashers work but have Hyper flash
Flashers on, running light off, headlights off, load resistor plugged in -> Flashers work and no Hyper flash
Flashers on, running light on, headlights off, load resistor unplugged -> White light on, doesn't change when Flashers are activated
Flashers on, running light on, headlights off, load resistor plugged in -> White light on, doesn't change when Flashers are activated
Flashers on, running light on, headlights on, load resistor unplugged -> White light on, doesn't change when Flashers are activated
Flashers on, running light on, headlights on, load resistor plugged in -> White light on, doesn't change when Flashers are activated

I did some research and didn't find much. I did read that if the resistor isn't the proper ohms that the switchback function might not work but since I got the Morimoto HD load resistors I think this shouldn't be the problem. I'm thinking that the bulbs are defective but before I go and exchange them I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

    Thanks

I did some more troubling shooting tonight. Using a battery the bulbs switch from amber to white and back fine. I added in a potentiometer and the bulbs need ~10 or more volts to switch to amber. I went to the car and the bulb worked (slower flash than the other but was flashing with the running lights on). I switch bulbs and the other didn't work until after 5 or so minutes will trying to measure the flashing voltage. So the bulbs work (slower flash than the other but was flashing with the running lights on) once they heat up a little bit. I'm going to borrow an oscilloscope to measure the voltage change from the flasher relay and do some more testing this weekend.

All that work for turn signal bulbs? Lol I would just keep the stock incandescents. I used to use oscilloscopes all the time at my last job... Hated those damn things. Good luck though
