Just installed a new OEM Luk DMF and Sachs clutch kit. Car is a 04' A4 6 spd Quattro
My concern is if i have a faulty, brand new DMF. I ask because once the flywheel and clutch kit were torqued to the crank the flywheel seems to have a bit of play. I can rotate the clutch clockwise and counter-clockwise a small amount which I am sure is normal. The secondary flywheel will rotate until the slack is taken up in the DMF by the damper springs, so part is if no issue.
The part that worries me is I can move the secondary flywheel (this is the sprung flywheel portion that is not directly bolted to the crank) in and out but only slightly. I guess its in an axial direction. An example, if i push the DMF in or towards the engine with my thumb at the 3 o"clock position the 9 o"clock position of the DMF will raise away from the engine slightly. This occurs at all opposite positions in an equal amount.
I found this vid on the tube... at :15 secs you can see he moves the DMF very slightly at opposite ends of each other. Is this normal? My DMF is doing exactly that brand new out of the box.
