Trivial but bugging me - painted rear valence

I got my car back from a total repaint++ recently and soon noticed the panel under the bumper has been replaced with one that's painted body color, instead of the previous matt plastic finish. I searched and did not find this as an RS5 addition since my 2013, was it?

Nope. The body shop most likely painted it. You should have them get you another.

I've never seen it before, but I also have a 2013. I'm thinking your body shop painted it.

I would love it if mine came back to me painted black rather than the OEM matte grey that looks horrible on my red S5.

I'm happy with it and yes it would look good on other colors. Looks like I got another bonus from that repair job.

I took Mops advice and painted mine with Wurth Satin Black flexible trim paint and couldn't be happier with the OEM look. Highly recommended and easy even for a painting novice like me.

I like it. Not huge on a paint match, but a satin black looks great.

Funny, when I got my 5, and had my shop do a nose refresh, they painted my oem grey s-line splitter with the Wurth. I did not ask for it, but I loved the look.

I'll keep an eye out for whether it chips a lot under there. And to clarify - I was bugged that I thought I would find it as a part of the tinkering they do during new model year enticements, like the CF engine cover and painted brake calipers but couldn't, not that I don't like it.
