Officially, you need lots o' shit.
Wow...you've got a lot of work ahead of you.
You might check junkyards to see if there are any front-clip parts available.
You should be able to locate an IPB of the front to see what all you need.

You've got a big job ahead of you. What did you pay for a Q5 in this condition? How many miles? Good luck with the project. Be sure to post pics when you are done.

It gave me a pretty idea of what I'll need. Now, another question. So, if I have self adjusting headlights(premium plus), can I install adoptive headlights (prestige) in their replacement? If so, do I need anything extra, or is it plug-and-play?

Not sure about retrofitting AFS headlights, though I do believe it's more than a simple plug and play swap.

Just wanted to let you know I'll have my non-AFS headlights (bi-xenon) from a premium plus 2011 Q5 available soon, complete with all modules and in perfect shape. PM if interested.

Have a question. My a-Arm, on suspension is very close to the tire. Less than 1". Is that normal? And if I want to go with bigger wheels, will it cause a fitment problem?

    Hhmmm...mine is less than 4mm.
    I'm running 295/35ZR21 on 10-inch wheels at ET30.
That should give you some perspective.

Thanks for the info, but how much clearance did you have before you went to bigger wheels?
Mine are OEM 19"s as you can see in the pictures above.

Miles. I never bothered to check clearance on this SQ5. The previous one had the stock 21-inch wheels and I used 12.5/20mm spacers. I had 265/40 tires, which were very close to the top of that steering knuckle, but you're not going to have any clearance issues until you go over 10 inches and again, it will depend on your offset. Just keep in mind that you can't go any bigger than 29.3 inches in tire diameter because of clearance with that steering knuckle. Going wider depends entirely on the offset. If/when you do, here are some pictures I snapped while replacing my bent wheel today. I also got a rotation and fresh balance along with the full tech inspection befor our Audi track day on Monday.

The rubber on the steering knuckle is only because the rim was bent. I never felt or heard it rub, but there was never any rubber there before.

Thank you for the info SQive!
The back side of the tire wall is awfully close to the steering knuckle. When you ran 21'' wheels did you HAVE to use spacers because it was rubbing or did you just decide to use spacers because you want to have a flush look?

    Thank you in advance.
I will post pictures on the progress shortly!

    These are 21"s as well.
As you know, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
On the OEM wheels, I only used the spacers to flush the fitment.

OK, here is a little update on the repairs.

I had to replace the hood, the door and the fender (if you have seen pictures, you know why). But now with everything connected back in place, talking about a door, it will not lock from the inside or from the remote key. Can anyone suggest where I am to look for an answer to my problem?

Ordered fender from an auction shop and they damaged it in the process. Filed a claim, which they happily denied. So, I am stuck with a damaged fender. Hood was damaged on the left seam/fold that runs along the fender line. So, I have decided to get a new hood...Talk about $$$ investment. The hood arrived 2 weeks later. My dad inspected the hood and it looked all fine...or so I thought. I was working on the car last night and I found damages on the hood. BRAND NEW out of the box, from the factory and it has damages. Now I am to write them and see if there is anything they can suggest, or do for me.

So, I've contacted the parts dealer and they requested an estimate from a shop. Submitted an estimate, now waiting to hear from them.

Update: If you read above, I was having problems with passenger doors not locking. I have searched on forums but didn't find the exact issue I was having.

The issue I was having is that neither of my doors on a passenger side would lock from inside or from the remote. On either door the light was not coming on when I would lock the vehicle from inside.

Today I have resolved the issue. What I had to do: made sure that the ignition is off, then I had to disconnect the main connector on the front passenger door (it is located on the inside of the door seam when you open the door, by the hinges). Once I disconnected the main connector, I disconnected all other connectors on a door itself: mirror, lock actuator, etc. I did that on both, front and rear doors that were not locking. Then I reconnected everything. At the very end I reconnected the main connector on the front passenger door. By doing so, my computer reset the codes for both doors. This solved my problem. Now everything locks and unlocks from inside and on the remote.

Congratulations! I doubt many on here have replaced any doors, but it's good to know that they can refer to this thread for helpful information if they do.

    Thank you SQive!

I am very new to this forum, as well as to Audi world, but I would love to learn and to help in any way I can.

As far as above posted info, I believe it would be helpful not only if you replace a door, but in a case when lock/window switches stop responding to a remote/controls inside. It is a long shot, but it is an easy fix that anyone can try.

Here are a few pictures of issues that I've encountered with parts:
Needed s-line emblem for a fender. Here is what I found on eBay. As you can see, cheap counterfeit

This is an issue I've mentioned above, when a delivery company damaged it in transit

And most recent issue is the hood, also damaged in transit

Fortunately, with some time put in, those have been fixed. So far at my expense, of course.

Further progress pictures to follow soon. I thought that I had more to upload, but it was recorded on Snapchat. Oops

I know I haven't been very active here. Had a few snugs here and there, but the car is almost done. Putting final touches on it before finalizing paperwork. Got it painted couple of weeks ago, now just assembly left. Will post pictures very soon.

Ok, now that the car is put back together, I ran into couple problems. Put the car together and decided to charge up a battery, because it was getting a low charge. It was hot out, so I turned the air on. Nothing!!! No air flow what so ever. No matter what fan speed I have it on, no matter if A/C or heat is on, no matter if it is on auto, there is no air flow what so ever! I've checked the blower fuses, both checked out. I can hear the radiator fans going, but no air is getting into the cabin. The coolant piping get so cold, that frost develops on them.
    Suggestions???

I've read a bunch of threads online, but haven't found a solution.

Edit: today I've checked all fuses with volt meter/reader. All fuses are good. Although, according to diagram, some of the fuses are missing. Why is that? See pictures below.

Sorry for pictures coming out sideways. Don't know how to flip them on photobucket.

    Fuses on driver's side.

Diagram for fuses on driver's side

Am I missing any of the fuses?

    Fuses on passenger's side

Looks like I am missing one there as well. Or should I not have all of the fuses down on a diagram?

Quick update: car is completely done. Just a few codes to clear. Registering it in a couple of days.

The above mentioned issue of no air coming out of vents is resolved. What has happened is, that when my car got flooded due to the fact that I forgot to put cowl back on (under the hood), the water got into the fan. The rod that the fan sits on, got rusty and fan motor was not powerful enough to spin it. After giving it a few good turns by hand and spraying some 5w40, everything begun to work again.

Thank you for checking up on me. The car is finished... I need to post some pictures here and as soon as I get to washing it, I'll snap some shots for you guys.

I have some VCDS questions...should I ask them here or do I need to look for a specific VAG COM thread?

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks TITAN! Much appreciated, but I can't take any credit for it. My brother did most of the work. As far as interior, just had to vacuum and do some upholstery cleaning.
