Central Display - how to show fuel left in the tank?

So I've had my 2008 A6 Avant for a while now, and it's great but on the central display (just below the digital speedo) I seem to have a random, completely wrong, clock.

After some reading and fiddles I have found the button under the wiper stick and it gives me three options:

a) random clock 1
b) random clock 2
c) MPG

... Any idea how to get the miles/km left in the tank?

On that same stick on the right of it there are buttons that you can press up or down... Do you have those?

Nope, just went out to check. Just the one button with 'RESET' above it.
