Installing coilovers. What to do with DRC

Hey guys, haven't been able to find info on disabling DRC or I'm just looking in the wrong places. What to do? Just disconnect the lines or is there more to it? Thanks in advance.

Most just disconnect the lines, drain the fluid, and cap off the pumps. You can go another step and remove them if you want though.

I removed mine, not a big deal and 1/2 job at the most... Once you are in there. Tank came down slightly to get the line out that was routed over the tank. I like the clean factor of it be-gone as I am not going back nor likely will sell the car.

I believe i recently read on here of someone looking for the DRC system for his car. Might do a quick search, never know if someone actually wants the old system

Where can you get these caps? I've seen them around, just can't remember where. I'm getting ready to install a set of Ohlins.

    Here's how that project works:

You start from the front of the car and try to carefully remove the lines with some mis-guided notion that you'll "need them one day"...then you get to the fuel tank area and all patience goes out the window. So you grab yourself a nice set of snips to cut the rest of it out because you're sick of messing with it and those lines have smacked against 15 different things in your garage as you try to twist and finagle it out.

So just get snips from the beginning and save yourself the cuss words.

This cracked me up! Yes that is how it panned out for me too, but all and all was pretty quick once you gave up on ever using the lines again.

Any hydraulics shop should be able to supply you with some caps. NAPA may have them as well. Just need something that will fit inside the port for the line that will keep debris out (if you plan on leaving them in or want to store them for a later time you'll never use them )

Ok, so what exactly are the pros/cons of keeping the DRC intact? I put sport springs on mine and everything seems fine, but I have no point of reference, maybe it would be better with coil overs and ditch the DRC...

And now that I have winter tires I'm getting a rubbing sound when I approach an abrupt incline at speed, it's rather annoying. What's that scraping sound and what should I do about It?

haha yea, I want to plug both the line going to the strut, and cap the line coming from the DRC system. It's pretty difficult to find a M12x1 cap, I've looked everywhere and ended up ordering a set from Brake Connect a few days ago.

Not at all. They came off with the stabilizers at 15,800 miles.

Pm me if you like. Give a great deal to get it out of here.
