Hi everybody, i have a Audi A4 2007 2.0T tip tropnic and i have the same problem (see video)

This rpm fluctuation stop after around 10 minutes. No error code detected with the ODB Scan. Data from the torque converter are ok. I am really confused what can cause that.

    Somebody can help me ?

I saw some post about the same problem, but nobody never came back with the solution.

Is not my car, but it is doing the same...

    Thank you

Well buddy i'm on the same boat as you, i haven't had the chance to chase down this problem but according from some extensive research i did 99% of the time turned out to be the torque converter. Since it only does it when the engine is cold i haven't bothered with it yet. Have you had a tranny fluid replaced yet or is it still the original fluid in there!

I still have the original fluid, because a lot of people told me to not change it, because maybe i will have other problems after that

About the torque converter i follow this:

Check MVB 7 from the TCM. Verify Field 3 is reading control and record the slip count from Field 4 while the concern is present. The slippage of the TCC should not exceed 120 RPM in MVB 7 field 4 while the convertor is in control mode. The RPM surge should coincide with TCC slippage. If this reads higher than 120 RPM, the torque convertor should be replaced.

Tip: The TCC slippage will vary when in open TCC mode and should read 0 when in closed TCC mode, this is normal. Replace the convertor for high slippage when the TCC is in control mode (above 120 RPM) or for any slippage when in closed mode (MVB 7 field 4)

    And everything was ok

I did not know you could test the torque converter using software..

That's bad advice. Replacing the filter and draining and refilling the fluid will absolutely help your situation. It probably won't solve it but it can't hurt.
