I have a 2011 A4 2.0t with 78k miles on it. Bone stock besides an k&n air filter. Had it in the dealer over the summer for oil consumption repairs 1&2. Few months later the oil repairs failed and I spun a rod bearing. They thew in a brand new engine. Audi covered %50, dealer%25 and me %25. They reused my old turbo on the new engine and I am worried that it's life span could have been shortened when the rod bearing spun and shattered and possibly shot metal fragments throughout the old engine and possible the turbo Assembly.
My question is- is it possible that my turbo could have been damaged when the rod bearing failed? (it wasn't getting oil and sort of shattered into large chunk and smaller pieces under the amount of friction)
Also, what is the average life span on a stock a4 b8 turbo?
Unrelated- but if anyone wants to chime in I'm also wondering....
with about 2k on the new motor everything is running pretty smooth, except my 8 speed transmission seems very jerky especially rolling downhill from 1st to 2nd (cold start with 1-2min idle warm-up). It almost feels as though the shift from 1st to 2nd is delayed and then when it does shift the car jolts a little bit. After it is warmed up its not as harsh but still a little jerky. Wondering if this is normal for a trans with 80kish miles or if it is a symptom of something major.
Thanks!
