    Coolant leak after shut off

I have a 2003 A6 2.7T. I just replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat and housing. Now after the car runs for awhile and I shut it off it starts leaking on the passenger side after a couple of hours. It does not leak while running. Also it is now a little hard to start. I have to turn it over for a few seconds, turn it off then try again before it will start. I have removed the front bumper and front end, and noticed a lot of corrosion where a water hose connects to the metal water line running to the oil cooler. This is right in front of the alternator. The front of the alternator pulley is also rusted. Since I have it apart. I can't pressure test it. Before I took it apart, I saw that coolant was dripping off of the oil pan on the passenger side towards the front. I'm guessing that the leak is coming from this hose/metal line junction but would like other opinions before commiting to it. I don't want to take it apart again.

You have no choice but to take it apart unless you want to buy another car. Maybe you forgot the o-ring on the thermostat and its leaking...
