Q5 aftermarket Sub installation - HELP!

Hey everyone! Just installed a 12" Alpine Type R sub in my Q5 with a stock sound system and head unit. Problem I'm running into is that with the factory setup when the volume is at approx 50% the stereo has a lot of juice running to the sub. As the volume is turned up further after 50% the power to the sub is only marginally increased. So basically the sub is getting about +75% power when the volume is at 50%. Now with the Type R installed this volume flaw is MUCH more pronounced. To hook the Type R up the shop unplugged the stock sub in the spare tire and used that for the main input. Is there someway to tap into the computer and adjust this somehow? It's very annoying.

Another problem is that in the sound settings you have the choice to adjust power to the Sub, and separately the Bass level. The door speakers seem to take mid-high bass notes while the sub is responsible for the deep lows. With the stock sub replaced with the powerful Type R the deep lows BOOM extremely nice, but is there a way to reroute all the bass levels to be received by the sub input? Again, is there a way to get into the CPU and adjust this or is it a pure amp issue? Some songs with a nice mix of mids and deeps sound off because the sub bangs out the deeps but not the mids.

you need one of these... http://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audi...-upgrade/lc7i/
To sum it up...factory radios are only designed to produce good bass at a lower volume. as the volume increases, the stock stereo actually decreases the amount of bass that goes to the speakers to protect them. This is much more noticed when you amplify that signal. The LC7i will take your factory signal, convert it to a nice clean signal and it will also restore the bass to how it should be when you turn your stereo up. i have one and it works awesome in my audi. Don't cheap out on a lower quality one either, they are garbage. I tried that route and it just didnt work right. you can get the LC7i off of ebay for like 120. hope it helps!
