P2015 and P0B98/P0B9A Engine faults right out of the showroom

Hi All,

A few km's drive off of the showroom and my 2016 A4 threw P2015 and P0B98 Engine faults.

OBD2 - confirmed:
P2015 - Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1

OBD2 - pending:
P2015 - Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1

OBD2 - pending:
P2015 - Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1

Engine:
P0B98 - Hybrid Battery Voltage Sense "S" Circuit High

Engine:
P0B9A - Hybrid Battery Voltage Sense "T" Circuit


just starting this thread as I'll be continuing to update it in case someone searches and doesn't find anything. I found a few results for "P2015" on B7 forum, but not B8 and not the other faults I got.

Dealer reset it and it came back on again, now they called me scratching their head and said they'll keep the car with them for a few days and speak to HQ.

If anyone knows or is familiar with this and wants to chime in, feel free!

Lol, ahhh can't make this crap up, I would not take that car, ask the dealership to get you a different one.

I'm going to say the 2016 will be like the 2009 and 2013 with issues. To me the first models have issues that get fixed for the most part the years following. I hope they fix it for you and that's not the case for you even though it seems it is.

But the 2016's are still B8's, if anything they should be the most refined.

It's a "B8". The electronics in this thing are way different and nothing is the same.

Didn't realized they changed that much with '16's with the B9 incoming.

Yeah this isn't the one with the new electrical dashboard, I believe it is the exact same model as all the other B8.5's except with a bunch of sline freebies thrown in.. and engine issues on the side ;)

Either way good luck, I wouldn't worry too much as you have tons of warranty left. I'm sure that killed you seeing warning lights come on so soon though...

I would not keep the car, seems it already has bad karma from the getgo.

He can't just return it. Even with lemon law it has to occur more than once.

Hopefully it isn't indicative of a bigger future issue.

I'm used to it.. The 2009 A4 I had before that light never left despite me throwing thousands at it. Was hoping a new one would gain back some confidence in the brand, sigh..

Odd. The vacuum pump elbow was "restrictive" from the factory? Sounds like they did a fairly good job of tracking down the issue to the solenoid, however. Can't say I've heard of that solenoid going bad before, but I'm pretty new to the B8 2.0T. I'm sure someone else can chime in.
