    Brake upgrade for b8.5

    Hello,

I wasn't really able to find what I am looking for with the search function and what I did find doesn't seem very reliable.

I am considering upgrading my brakes on my b8.5 and have come across some great deals on the q5 calipers which should be the same diameter but thicker that the oem brake package, I have also found a few used Stoptech st-60 kits that are slightly larger (355mm) which is close to 3% larger. I've had stoptech calipers on previous cars to know that they make a good product but it seems like they still require more than normal maintenance concerning abutment plates. The q5 are a brembo product which also has great history of quality. I assume these will not be on the performance level of brembo grand turismo brakes... but for less than 1k it seems to be a good option.

Does anyone have real world exposure to the q5 brembo package on either auto-cross or HPDE?

+1. Anxious to see the answers to this question as I'm thinking of the exact same setup.

Have you driven your car on the track yet? What issue(s) are you trying to solve?

If you are referring me. Yeah I've done 3 hpde this year. I had significant brake fade on the last hpde and decided to not reattempting without further brake upgrades..

I would like to increase brake endurance. I was hoping that the q5 4 pots would offer weight reduction and a greater heat capacity. For 1k, this could be worthwhile.

    Current brake mods:
    Carbo xp8 pads
    Motul 600 or 660, I forget.
    Stock type rotors (ECS)
