I'm down to about 1/4 tank....and I put $40 in it. Get's me right at full on the gauge....but the pump didn't auto shutoff so I know I'm not all the way full or topped off. I take off, and my range is reading around 500...didn't pay a lot of attention. And I usually don't until it starts getting low because the numbers are a joke when full....only get about 300 to a tank if I'm lucky. But not the point....
So I'm driving a bit....maybe 20 miles or so....and I notice my range is counting UP . It's at 550. Goes to 560 after a minute or two.....570.......580.....finally it hits 600 and my gas warning light comes on. Gauge still reads right on full. I'm thinking the light came on because it got outside of some over voltage tolerance? I drive another 50 miles or so....a couple starts and stops....and now I'm down to a bit over 3/4's.....range is about 400....all seems "normal" now.
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting if this starts reoccurring? Is everything in the tank? I hope not.....
