    About spacers?

    Hello!
My plans for this winter were to use my secondary car(Nissan Terrano 1991) instead of the RS4 but as it turns out, an old SUV without any safety features and bad tyres is terrifying in icy conditions.

So i was planning on using the RS as a daily driver instead, I live in northern Sweden so the conditions vary.

I have a set of 18" winter tires with new Gislaved Nordfrost tyres that i used with my past A4, but i noticed that they hit the front calipers on the RS so was planning on buying spacers so i can use them.

So my question is: Which spacers should i use?, i don't want to break the bank and i thought that i could maybe use them on the OEM RS summer tires when summer hits again.

A big + would be if some Swede knows where to buy them in Sweden or if there are companies with international shipping.

You should be fine with a small spacer. If it's purely for brake caliper clearance you shouldn't need more than 5mm. Could even get away with 3mm. The smaller spacers will be less as well.

Take a look at our full line that we have available for your vehicle.

We ship internationally and also have international distributors who can source these items for you. Feel free to PM me and I can get you in contact with a distributor.

If you go with just 3mm spacers you can probably also save on the need to buy extended lugs. BTW, you state the tires but don't say what wheels you are having the issue with caliper clearance.

Ehhh it's really not recommended. The rule of thumb is you should at the very minimum have 6 threads in the hub. Anything less could be a concern for safety.

If you can fit the wheel on with the spacer and still get at least 6 threads in I don't see an issue but if it doesn't work out better to be safe than sorry and go for some longer bolts.

    Alright!, I use these:

Some cheap brand and they are at my parents house so can't say ET and other specs :)

just be careful with the length of the lug bolts. I've heard horror stories of people using too long of a bolt that they found lying around, for the B8's. Not sure with the B7's, but I would get a bolt exactly long enough for the added width of the spacers.

If you need help to ship something from here, and do it so you don't get to deal with the import "tax", send me a pm and I can help you. Also I usually have friends/family visit here and there and a buddy from Stockholm coming in January and surely he can bring some back. And of course I got to help out a fellow swede! I would recommend the 10 front/back for stock summer, and 10/8 unless you went a wide brand like the DWS where I had to step down the spacers with 275's to an 8/nada front.

I'm going from 10mm to 5mm spacers. Can I use the same lug bolts?

    Doubtful.
Even a few mm's too long and the lug bolts will likely bind up on the hub.

Its not recommended. You should always use proper size bolts with spacers.
