Looking for lowering links - need advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So how many of you have installed lowering links for your factory air suspension? Who did you buy them from and how much? Im seeing prices on Ebay from around $150-300+. From what Ive read, there is no reason for highly machined versions and that they are very simple parts.

If any of you have them and found a reliable source to buy them from, please let me know.

    Thanks!

Could not respond to the lowering link question as I have no experience but have you considered just using the VAG computer to lower it without hardware? I did that and it was really easy. Same effect, no hardware. Just a thought for you...

I have them. Really like them. Can't go wrong, and they're easy to adjust. I paid about $140.00 from this guy:

i messaged the airmatics seller on ebay. he says about 1-1.5 hours and if you can remove wheels and put them back on, you can do this. evidently it's not hard. edit: here is post about it http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...lowering+links

but does anyone know about headlights?

also what spacer size you all using w/o rubbing? 15 and 20 mm?

I didn't install mine myself, but as I understand the rears are much easier to do with removing the rear sway bar

I just did mine. Airmatics. Quality product and quick shipping. Exceptionally quick. The install was pretty seamless. Fronts you can do just by jacking the car. Rears you need to remove tires. I did not have to touch the sway bar. The hardest part I found was trying to convert mm to centimeters and get the right conversion and length from the start. I ended up to aggressive and had to make a coupe adjustments but came out great.

After reading through a few threads I decided to try this project myself as well a few weeks back. I'm novice for sure when it comes to messing with the suspension hardware so take that for what it's worth. Like the other guy mentioned, I didn't take the wheels off for the front, but you have to for the rear. Depending on what sort of climate you drive in may make this easier. I was doing this in Colorado on a sub freezing day, so things weren't quite as pliable as a car in Florida for instance. After messing around with the fronts trying to be gentle and not snap the sensor I decided to improvise. Brought out the blow dryer and heated up the factory plastic links which definitely helped free mine up. Kinda a pain to pull those off but just had to be patient. As far as the adjustments they were pretty annoying. I just tried to set all mine at similar level before install and then did all my fine tuning on vag com. Definitely happy with the look after but for a beginner the whole project took me a few hours all said and done.
