Can anyone share experiences, recommendations, brands and prices??
My car is parked in the garage during the day, but since I work nights, I'd like to be able to start it before my shift end so I don't have to get into a freezing cold car to go home.
Can anyone shed some light for me?

It's possible to get a remote started from what I've read but you're best off to start the car, let it idle for a bit until the revs drops (maybe 20-30 seconds), then start driving. Fastest way to get the car warmed up. Letting it idle, the engine hardly warms up unless you just want the heated seats to warm up.

Be very cautious with adding a remote starter. None of the 'off the shelf' units work, but you are looking at $1,000 due to all the bypasses you will need to make to get it to work, around the immobilizer I believe.

As well double check your user manual, Audi frowns on the use of leaving your car idle on warm up

    1) Not good for the engine

    2) Easy enough to do if you have an automatic, but almost impossible if you have a manual
