    2.0 APR ko4 upgrade reliablilty?

I am considering a 2015 allroad with the APR ko4 turbo and intake upgrade. The car has 15k on it. I would imagine the warranty is toast now. So is this a good idea to buy it? I mean how reliable is the 2.0 with these mods? I know my stage 3 b5 is quite… tempermental, to say the least. I need a reliable winter car that will last a few years. I was looking at a brand new 2016, but then found this 2015. Not sure if I can resist … lol. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    APR makes solid products.

I just ordered my CTS K04 and will get an APR k04 tune. I read up on lots of K04 reviews, and have only read good things about it.

Quite a few people run them and I haven't heard too much complaining about unreliability.

Not to thread hijack but I thought APR was not selling just K04 software for other kits. Has that changed?

Carlos74 is using the APR tune with his E-tuners K04, FYI.

i have had the apr K04 since 7k and now i am 80k on it. The difference is you should do plugs with different gap and replace coils every 20 to 30k depending on how hard you are on the car. I am pretty aggressive driver so I replace the plugs at 15k and the R8 coils at 30k intervals. The only big issue I have had is the breather valve failure recently. Otherwisethe K04 has been rock solid. I also came out of a Stage 3+ B5 S4 and miss mine alot. But still like the B8 K04 alot...

I read of one other member here that had a high mileage K04, and it seemed fine; lots of people running it. I just picked up a used one with 1500 miles on it, can't wait to install.

I bought a 2.0 with k04 turbo already installed on it, so can't compare it to the k03. But I've had no problems, noises or issues out of mine. I've personally only owned the car 3-4 months now but the turbo's been on the car for 20k miles and seems perfectly normal. Only thing I've ever noticed is after a very hard run on the highway the turbo was literally glowing red hot. But I assume that's normal.
