Hi! I'm new to the forum and have only had my B8 S4 for about 4 months, but I've enjoyed it a lot so far. Fortunately the car is covered under warranty and it may need to go in but I was going to check on here and a few other forums if anyone can give me some insight or has had the same issue. I'd like to avoid leaving it at the dealership or if it's something stupid that I can fix in 5-10 mins, I'd rather go that route. When I go from a complete stop, when I first get on the gas, there is a sound that seems to be coming from the underneath rear of the car. It only happens going forward and only if I go from a complete stop. If I'm rolling through a stop sign or something like that, it doesn't happen. The sound is a little strange to describe, but it's somewhat tinny, like if a rock hit your sheetmetal brake shield. It might be a little more solid than that, but basically that's what it sounds like. I'll see if I can record the sound if anyone thinks that will help. When the car is moving or driving, or even if I get on the gas, it goes and runs fine with no issues. Only moving from a dead stop. I jacked up the rear end and inspected everything and checked to make sure there was nothing loose in the wheel hubs, etc. and it seems ok. I'm a little worried it's either the differential or the transmission, but hoping it's something more minor even though it is under warranty. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!!
