Tiptronic 2.0t TCM Location? Depress clutch pedal to start engine?

Have a puzzling question hopefully someone can help out with.

Put a new engine in my car - same trans - same ecu - just swapped the engine.

Went to start it and it says - Press clutch pedal to start engine. ITS TIPTRONIC THERE IS NO CLUTCH PEDAL!

    Scan with vcds shows -

    1 Fault Found:
049409 - No Communication with Transmission Control Module
    U0101 - 008 -
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101000
    Fault Priority: 0
    Fault Frequency: 1
    Reset counter: 255
    Mileage: 208770 km
    Time Indication: 0

    Freeze Frame:
    RPM: 0 /min
    Load: 0.0 %
    Speed: 0.0 km/h
    Temperature: 12.0°C
    Temperature: 14.0°C
    Absolute Pres.: 990.0 mbar
    Voltage: 11.684 V

    Readiness: 0110 0101

When I try to access " auto trans " in VCDS it says no response from controller.

So I'm trying to find the Trans Control Module. I havent found a conclusive answer yet on where it is located.
I understand that for CVT transmissions its located in the transmission itself. (i am not CVT)
In a b5/6 its located under the ecu.
Does the B7 ME9 ECU have the TCM integrated?

anyone have any idea on why this would happen?
    Thanks.

Yeah I sure did, I even tested continuity and voltage on the plug suspecting that it wasn't getting power.

Connector looks kind of like this- but not really

    results were :

    • 1- 1.77v
    • 2- 2.38v
    • 3- 11.5v
    • 4- 5.43v
    • 5- 5.43v
    • 6- 2.63v
    • 7- unused
    • 8- unused
    • 9- 3.06v
    • 10- used but no voltage no continuity
    • 11- 3.30v
    • 12- unused
    • 13- ground
    • 14- 11.9v
    • 15- unused
    • 16- ground

    battery voltage = 11.96

of course these results are useless without further information.
can't seem to find a pinout and haven't got my hands on a bentley manual yet.
if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

I am now assuming the TCM is built into the ecu if the main harness has that many pins on the connector for the transmission.

    also some random info fwiw

    - i can shift without pressing the brake pedal down when the ign is on.
    - when i press the brake pedal the little foot symbol thing next to the P stays illuminated
    - the brake light switch does work and my brake lights do come on when pressed.
