    Headlight washer leaking

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just started a few days ago on the passenger side. Slow drips from the under the bumper. Any thoughts on the cause? Seems to be leaking even though I do not use the headlight washers (i.e. Only use in daylight or turn the headlights off so headlight washer does not trigger).

I really do not want to bring to the dealer just for this. I wish the car did not even have this useless feature. Thanks.

why don't you want to bring it to the dealer?? Your probably going to have the take off all the under trays and look up into the bumper cavity and see if you want find the leak. It could be the washer nozzle housing the lines or a connection in the line.

If it was a quick fix or diagnosis it might save me the trip. Also seems like I'm not the only one having the issue.

I've had this issue on and off for the past couple months (passenger side). First time at the dealer, they said after taking everything off, a hose clamp came loose - fixed under warranty...after a month issue happened again, dealer found nothing. I brought in blue stained paper towel, and they still said - not sure what we can tell you, its not leaking. I also wish we didn't have this feature, its pretty useless.

Dropping my car off this Wednesday so I'll post back once I get the report. All I know is that having more fluid in the tank seems to make it drip worse.

Typically it's a loose hose. Just let the dealership trouble shoot it if you have warranty. The more you use the spray the more it will come loose.
Same happened on my wife's Fiat - the hose on that is very easy to follow so I was able to see very easily where it was leaking from - the glass guy disconnected the hose to replace the windshield and never re-connected it...

After my procrastinating, then bringing the car in once to be told its not leaking, only to have to bring it back a second time pissing fluid from the bumper, this is how my dealer determined to remedy to problem:

    Remove and reinstall
    (1) 8K0-955-101-D Cylinder
    (1) 8K0-955-665 Support

I'll report back if it solves the problem.

Yes, solved. I also have the headlight washers disabled via Carista.

Funny, just happened to me this past weekend, but instead of it dripping from the passenger side, it just totally dumped the washer fluid onto the ground. This happened when I saw the washer fluid reservoir was low. I filled it up since I had some fluid, I heard the water flowing through the pipes, then one big dump of river started coming from the bottom. Thankfully, I don't really use the washers much since a car wash will handle it, or gas station washer fluid when I'm fueling up will serve me fine. Probably won't take a look at it until the next oil change in 6 months or so. Hoping it's just a loose clamp.
