Audi RS7 driver side wind noise

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello everyone, I am experiencing a wind noise coming through my driver side window. In a dry weather I could hear the noise at highway speed when you pass someone(like a whistling noise), in a rainy weather it's much more obvious, even at 40km/h I could hear an annoying water sizzling noise.

The noise is only present at the driver side, passenger side is dead quiet. It's seems like the noise is specifically coming through the driver side where the window is touching the B pillar (but I might be wrong). The car has been at the dealer for two times, and a total of 3 weeks, and they have tried realigning the door, window, plus lubricating the rubber seal, but the noise is still there...

The car is less than 3 months old, and one third of the time it's in the dealership service for some issues... You bet I am very frustrated at this point :( I hope people who had a similar issue could please provide their experience and their solutions. Thanks a lot and happy holiday

sorry to hear this. mine is pretty darn quiet so i can't relate. might be better to investigate this on your own checking all the seals ALL the way around the door, top, sides AND bottom. something is clearly amiss.

It sounds like you got a lemon since mine is almost 2 years old now from the original delivered date and I don't have the issue you stated. In fact it's so damn quiet that I need to roll window down to hear more sound.

Tape around the door with blue masking tape then go for a drive. If noise is still there then it's coming from something else. Perhaps the sunroof if so tape that then move along till you have found the issue.

I had this problem with my S5 and it was just the fixture that clasps the door shut was loose. I noticed the noise and then noticed the paneling didn't quite line up perfect when it was closed and then I noticed the female end thats mounted to the door frame would slide .5 to 1.0 inches left or right under pressure. Grabbed an Alan wrench and it's perfectly silent once again. Hope you're having the same problem cuz it was an easy fix.

Too bad I don't think Canada has lemon laws, beside these small issues the car has been perfect otherwise. I just don't know if I am going to trust Audi's build quality again lol...

I thought you have other issues that need to take the car in to fix them but yeah, in US even with small issues if they happen repeatedly we can demand a new car by lemon law.

Yea I do. The other issues I had was a transmission rpm fluctuation and jerking at low speed, dealership reset my transmission and it got better a little... And the other issue I have was side assist brightness reset itself evevytime I turn on/off the car, this issue was never fixed and it was puzzling Audi of Canada as well... I just learned to live with it lol.

But the wind noise issue I have much less tolerance and I am demanding Audi to fix it before they hand me back the car...

Wow...that sounds very lemon to me. It sucks that there is no such law over there.

Mine has tons of wind noise with the window open. Quiet as a mouse with the window shut. I was very surprised it was that loud with the window open.
