Low Oil - Faulty Hood Sensor

Got the low oil notification on the MMI saying to add oil, added a quart and checked the dip stick everything was fine but the MMI still shows low oil when its not.

Did some research and found out that I have a faulty hood sensor. I popped the hood to check and there's only the cable to pop the hood but no wires for the sensor. Is the plug in the last picture the harness that you place a paper clip into to jump the sensor into thinking the hood is open to reset the MMI oil level?

Get a dipstick and you wont have to rely on a faulty electronic system.

^^ This. I check mine once per month and so far at 14,500 on the ODO the car hasn't used a drop of oil. Seems to be pretty solid. I bought a real dipstick right away.
