Hardly. I wouldn't doubt that the AMD tune is more refined & could offer some more ponies. But I'm going to assume, like most B5 S4 owners (including myself!), you probably have at least $500 in maintenance and repairs that you should get taken care of first.

I'd agree with this. Is the AMD stage1/2 a good tune? Yes it is, but at the end of the day it's still a k03 tune and you can really only push those so hard. The only real reason to make the switch would be to cut costs else where, like EGT's coded out or rear o2's to pass emissions.
Maintenance should always be done first. I need to replace that damned center support bearing, it's making lovely clunky sounds and drivetrain movement, however the idea of laying on cold wet concrete doesn't sound appealing to me at the moment. Probably going to push that one off till spring.

When it comes time to go bigger turbo definitely run one of their tunes. You're fortunate enough to have one of the best Audi tuners in the country practically in your backyard. Take advantage of that. Many people want AMD tunes in other parts of the country, however Jason doesn't like to remote tune cars as there are some tuners out that would love to copy his files.
