    2007 A6 4.2FSI MMI suddenly stopped working

    Hello,

I tinted windows in my C6 today. Went back home and jump started my girlfriends car using + and - in engine bay. MMI was still functioning properly. After about 2 hours I started the car again and got the message about low battery and that it will recharge while driving. I noticed that my MMI was dead and none of the MMI buttons lit up... :( I though it was some safety feature that shuts the system off on low battery so I took it for a highway ride, cam back home, restarted the car and same thing... I will check all fuses tomorrow. CD changer and Nav dvd reader in the trunk work too. I tried resetting MMI with the 3 buttons but it is completely dead and didn't work. Thank you in advance!

Sounds like the car lost the programming of the battery. The power control module is thinking the battery is drained or draining and shutting down systems. If you have access to VAGCOM, you can go in and re-associate the battery to the car.
For me, it is stuff like this that I won't hook up ANY jumper cables to start someone else's car; even my wife's!

Unfortunately I don't have it yet. My girlfriend is buying it for me on Valentines day... lol :) first of all thanks SinCityA6 for your input. I started the car today morning and it is back to normal... Looks like problem solved but as you mentioned, I will never jump anybodys car again... Have a safe weekend all!

Exactly what I was thinking when I jumped someone this week. I instead jumped them from the trunk. I got a vag com if you need it. PM me.
