Hello all, new member here.
About a month ago I purchased a 2014 A4 premium plus with 6-speed manual transmission, only 11,500 miles. In the month I've had it I've only put on about 800 miles or so, but I've noticed a couple of strange noises that I'm hoping someone can help me straighten out.
First, when going over bumps I'm getting a bad clunking noise from the back. I tried to remove all of the tools and the spare tire in the back to no avail. I'm not entirely sure if it is coming from the trunk, outside, or inside the car, as it's hard to locate it. It seems to happen whenever the shock absorbers expand and contract quickly and it sounds like there is something loose. I had a friend ride in the back seat while I drove (that friend can't drive stick) and he sounded pretty sure that it wasn't coming from the inside rear.
Second, I'm noticing when I shift from 4th to 5th or 6th, basically anywhere towards the right of the shift gate, I'm getting a weird clicking noise from the shift boot. There's no real resistance from shifting - it just makes a strange noise that I don't think is normal of a $43k car.
Has anyone had anything similar, and if so, any solutions to fix these problems? Other than what I mentioned it's a great car. I get the occasional creak or rattle, but the car rides like a dream.
