Pic Request: V6 B5's with THOR skid plates

Can anyone grab a pic from the driver side of the car that shows how close the skid plate is to the oil pan?

I put mine on my avant and it's been a long time since I've seen one installed (I had it on my old car). Anyways when I bolted it up it seemed way too close to the front part of the oil pan.

This is with the front bolts just slightly loose so it would've been even tighter in here were they tightened all the way

I added a bunch of washers to the front bolts to space the skid plate a little more just to be safe

Anyone have similar pics of their skid plates without any kind of washers? I think if it ends up being similar I'll probably ditch the washer spacers, because now those are leading me to believe they might cause other issues.

Do you have the plastic V6 rear washers they sell? That looks like they're missing.
I'll try to snap a pic later

The rear spacers are just kind of optional for air flow. They won't really help the clearance in the front of the oil pan

Maybe it's just my poor memory but I think the spacers add clearance as well by pivoting the sheild at the front.

Rear spacers just aren't an option I want to consider. It'll lower the plate more than I am comfortable with. I just can't remember if this was how my skid plate was on my old car. If it is I'll probably leave it alone because I've hit plenty of things and not cracked the pan.

Well, if you don't want to space the plate down, the only other option is to add spacers to move the engine UP.

I realize this might sound crazy, but I think you'll be surprised.

Kidding aside, my Thor plate took a HARD hit and did bend it some. If the pan had been touching, I'm not sure it would have made it.

I actually went back today and tried something else, 'cause I had my suspicions that the skid plate wasn't pushed all the way forward that it could go. So I pushed it forward a bit after loosening all the bolts, and ditched the front washer/spacers I put in and it looks good now. Still kinda close but I think the clearance is fine.

    Forgive the vertical video.

And Walky, I should've lifted the engine while I was swapping everything! Ever since I found out someone else did it now it's got me thinking lol

My 1.8T has a Thor plate and it has the large white spaces on the rear and I have never had an issue. I could not count the times that skid plate has kissed concrete and no bends so far. If it is not the skid plate scraping on something it is the DTS which I high sided twice today on speed bumps and my car is not slammed although it is lowered.
