    Cool Parts for EFR-6758 build

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello Audizine,

I am gathering parts for a turbo build, and I am unsure about a few things, thought you'd help me brainstorm a lil.

    The car currently has:

    -2.5" stainless highflow exhaust
-3" downpipe with 250 cell highflow cat
-Spec stage 3+ Clutch/plate with 034motorsport single mass alu flywheel
    -Fluiddampr
    -Pipercross airfilter

I have these parts already(not mounted):

-Borg Warner EFR-6758 turbo with internal WG and 0,64 AR exhaust housing(179388)
    -Evolution Racewerks SMIC's
    -Autotech HPFP upgrade kit
    -RS4 injectors

I am going to have a custom exhaust manifold made.

My POWER goal is around 400hp, APR sells kits for this engine that kind of power and stock internals. So Im thinking that if they dare to sell that, it should be OK for me also.

    BUT:

Would I need to upgrade the LPFP also? If so, to what and how?

And will those RS4 injectors work satisfactory you think? There is a lot of rumours that these should have the wrong spray pattern which could lead to very rough running when cold. But on closer inspection, it seems like only a few people actually has reported that they have this problem, with tons more ppl reffering to these few.

Would a catch can kit be to recommend?

Anything else you would like to add?

    Thanks.

Add the rs4 lpfp control module to that list and you should be okay for loe pressure fuel system. S3 injectors would be better then rs4 but you can make the rs4 work. Just may have some rough cold start issues.

Without upgraded rods just make sure to limit boost in low RPM and don't let the boost pressure spike too quickly.

The car is to be a daily driver so its important that it runs well...I will get other injectors if the RS4 ones will be problematic. S3 and RS4 are the only options right?

I would get s3 injectors. I've never had cold start issues with them on my gyx2867r build.

An upgraded rail valve from hpfpupgrade will also probably be needed.

I believe the RS4 PRV is 136 bar.

It is a pressure relief valve for the high pressure fuel system. You will need to run higher fuel pressure with the larger turbo and the stock PRV will open too soon and bleed off pressure to the low pressure fuel system.

Also, 400 bhp on stock rods is pushing it, 400 whp will definitely require upgraded connecting rods.

I bought mine from USP Motorsport and the say:
"When a specific pressure is exceeded the pressure regulating valve allows fuel to escape from the high pressure fuel rail. If the pressure release valve has gone bad, then it can cause low fuel rail pressure which results in fault codes, lose of power, and a high risk of melting a piston within the engine . This Part is a great upgrade from your stock 2.0T pressure regulator valve which has an opening pressure of 130bar. With an opening pressure of 140bar you will be able to delivery more fuel to your 2.0T FSI engine giving the ability to make more horsepower. "

    and http://hpfpupgrade.com/ says:
"Current OEM rail valves crack at 116 bar and 125 bar, ours cracks at 135 bar.

We can custom build any PRV to meet your pressure requirements (see drop down). Current offerings are 135 bar (recommended for S1 tunes), 145 bar (recommended for S2 and + tunes) and 155 bar (recommended for custom tunes and big turbos running S3 tunes). We have found that 145 bar is the ideal selection if you are running any upgraded tune or big turbo kit. The 145 bar PRV will compliment any tune that has a requested 125 to 135 bar. If you want to push your big turbo, the 155 bar PRV will add up to 100 HP of additional fueling you must have the ability to adjust your commanded fuel pressure to 149 bar."

Hmm.. usp says stock opens at 130bar and hpfpupgrade.com says stock opens 116 -125bar?

I guess I could just buy the 155bar one but there is probably some downsides? As long as I have maestro and can change my commanded fuel pressure Im all good with it right?

APR sells kits with 350hp for stock internals. I doubt you will get away with 400hp with a one off tune. most guys I have heard of tuning BT cars are blowing stock rods even around 350.
