    Help w/ OEM Wheel Fitment.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Went to mount my winter set up and for some reason that I can't determine, the right front wheel won't clear the caliper. I need about 3-4mm of clearance, though, wheel clears on front drivers side just fine (i have about 3-4mm of clearance on that side). I purchased the wheels (generic pic below) to be used as a winter set up, OEM that comes on B8's. Could there be something crazy going on with the brake assembly? I'm sure I could solve this with spacers but seems like a very strange problem to have..what gives?

    Any help would be appreciated!

If the brake pad thickness is different side to side that may affect the position of the outer part of the caliper. If those wheels are new to you I would recommend checking the specifications stamped into the back of each wheel to check that all 4 are the same spec.

That was my next thought, but wouldn't it make sense that all four have the same OEM specs?

It's not uncommon for Audi/VW to have the same style of wheel available in different widths and/or offsets so even if they all look the same the specs can differ.

What Skyler said. Are you running hub rings? I'm pretty sure that those wheels are a different hub bore than b7's

confirmed wheel specs and check brake pad wear on both sides. All same specs and nothing abnormal in regards to the brakes. Sounds like my only option now is wheel spacers?

uhhhh no i would definitely figure out whats going on rather than just throwing a spacer up on it.

take some measurements to start with?
