    Question for Lowered Q5/SQ5 Owners

Has anyone noticed contact or rubbing of the front tires or upper control arm on the fender liner? Did anyone require work on the front fender liners?

I'm running KW V3 coilovers with SPC Adjustable control arms. We measured 29" fender to ground on the front end, but I've had an issue with the wiring harness running through the fender liner. Somehow it's gotten pinched and the wires stripped triggering the ABS, ESC, Parking Sensors, Parking Brake, and Headlight Sensor faults.

Wondering if anyone else experienced the same issue, or had made modifications in that area.

I've not heard of this being an issue for the Q/SQ, but it is an issue on the other B8 platforms when running the SPC adjustable arms.

AWE makes/sells a kit to fix it. I'm not sure if it would work for the Q but it may give you some ideas if the harness is in a similar location, as I suspect it is.

According to their site, this fits the Q5 3.0T, so I would assume it works on the SQ5. Definitely gives us something to work with...thanks for the info!

    Hey mmth_ski_bum

Any chance you can take a picture of how your wire harness currently runs - before installing the wiring harness? I just bought some spc aca and I'm wondering if all also run into the issue.

    Thanks

    Yes, I had this issue.

I moved the wires out of the way and trimmed down the liner to clear. I am on custom arms up front and run 26" ground to fender

I should have taken photos when we were working on it. The wires run just inside of the fender liner where the SPC control arms eventually make contact and pinch the wires. There's the AWE relocation kit posted above, but we pushed the wires further outboard of the control arms toward the fender and secured them there where nothing could pinch them going forward.

No worries! Here's my current setup. I know we have different platforms but does the problematic area look like what you saw? I can't imagine my SPCs coming into contact with my wire harness but I could be wrong!

    Thanks,
    JesssMooo

Also, I've rotated tires twice now(every 5k) and they seem normally worn, no issues from the negative front camber.

    Cheers,
    Bob
