Don't buy A1 Cardone reman brake calipers!

Not impressed. I ordered a set of remanufactured brake calipers as part of a killer Black Friday deal online. They arrived today and I'm super disappointed.

Although they look ok, one caliper seems to have damaged guide pins, they bind very badly when trying to move the carrier in and out. The other is some sort of generic caliper (Not TRW/Audi branded) despite them being sold as reman OEM calipers.

The carriers are also aftermarket and not OEM, and as you can see, the finish doesn't match on the one carrier and caliper. One rubber dust cap for the bleed screw is also missing.

For "rebuilt" calipers, they're in worse shape than my current ones!

Yeah, I'm super pissed, not sure how you can pass these off as 'rebuilt' calipers. Rebuilt by a monkey perhaps.

And as @AXIS pointed out, the e-brake springs are also different sizes for some reason. Checked my OEM calipers and the springs are the same for left and right.

They were sold as OE Replacement but in the description they claimed that they were re-manufactured OEM calipers. Pictures also showed OEM TRW/Audi calipers. Regardless, the fact that the calipers don't even match color-wise make me suspect that quality control is seriously lacking.

Thats ridiculous. Rebuilding a caliper is easy and cheap enough I would prefer a used OEM pull fro a wrecked car on ebay to a remanned one.

I gave up rebuilding our rear calipers and had them done (My S4 rears too). That e-brake mecanism is a pita to take apart.

I haven't taken a crack at rebuilding the ebrake mecahnism myself. I merely replaced the piston seals, boots, and slider pins/boots.

The rear calipers I got for my b6 (b7 a4 rears) were in fairly shape but the ebrake part looked just fine so I just left it. The rest is cheap and easy.

I only had too because they were taking a ride in an oven (powder coat)

Yeah, learning that the hard way. I thought they were a pretty reputable name but based on what I have seen, definitely not.
