    Wideband Setup Question

    Hello all, I will be installing my AEM UEGO 30-4100 wideband once it arrives from my cyber monday order. Before anything is said, yes - I'm aware that the EUGO isn't the best system for logging or tuning, as the capabilities and accuracy lacks compared to the Zeitronix units. Please ignore that fact, I'm really only running it to monitor afr while im driving around. Stage 3 ko4 car, SSAC catless downpipes with the rear o2's coded out. The secondary o2 bungs are currently plugged with defoulers, and no CEL for anything o2 related. My question is, can I simply install the Bosch sensor in the existing passenger side secondary bung and run all the wires directly to the module-gauge? I've read the write-up on Nef but I couldn't conclude a ton from that as they are setting up more advanced system than I will be. Thanks for the help.

    Thats where I put mine, and no problems so far. I use the analog version of the UEGO as its easier for me to comprehend what is going on in a quick glance. I don't rely on it for precision, but its nice to know I have an "UH-OH" indicator if things take a turn for the worst haha

    So you just have the wire running straight from the sensor directly to the gauge? No ecu involvement? That's what I'm looking to do with mine.

    I know the white wire installs to a 0-5v input and the blue wire is supposed to be run through a com port, but from what I read the installation of these wires are completely optional. I might put them in if it isn't too difficult, but just to get the gauge operating it needs a power source, ground source, and the sensor to be installed it seems.

    Yup, no ECU involvement at this time with my wideband. Just a straight through install of the gauge.



    Here is quick video with the simplest of simple install process (nothing fancy just the bare minimum to get it working). Two of the wires are to be used as an output (i believe its grey and brown, new kits may have altering color schemes so go with whats written in the instructions), so you just dont use those at this time unless you were logging or treating the gauge like a sensor that is relaying information to some other device (ECU, data logger, etc). It has been over two years since I installed mine so my install memory may be a little fuzzy.

    Good to know, thanks for the help! Time to pull the dp's and toss some new seals in there, my nose senses leaky downpipes!

    If you have the old bosch LSU 4.2 sensor, I would definitely change it out for the new 4.9 unit which is perfectly acceptable for tuning, logging, etc etc.

    If your rear o2's are coded out, they do not need to be present to my knowledge so you can install it in one of the two banks. The leaner bank is the one most people use.

    Yes Passenger side on the test pipe, the mounting angle might not be ideal, but i can work around that after its all setup. The kit I ordered comes with the 4.9, and its the 30-4110 controller/gauge. Thanks

    the old sensor used to be offered under a subaru part number for a reduced cost for the same part. Is there a new part number for the 4.9 unit?

    Honestly if you can log with it, which it looks like you can with the 4.9, you might as well wire it to the ECU. It's a single wire you tap into. One extra step to be able to log in the future
