Anyone running APR k04 turbo with non APR test pipe and non APR software?

    Hi guys,

I've just bought a K04 kit from a member on this site; it's just the core turbo, and I'll get the installation hardware from ECS.

I do have a question though; I've previously purchased a Eurocode test pipe; will this be compatible? I would assume that if the APR K04 works with the standard CAT, then it should bolt up to this testpipe as well...

Second question; has anyone tried running the APR K04 system with software from a company other than APR?

    Appreciate your feedback guys

If the stock cat bolts up to it fine, then the ECS HFC will too.

I think a K04 is a K04, so you could run it with another companies tune, if you wanted. Though, I think your only options are Unitronic, Revo and APR right now. Revo would be tempting to me, if I was in your place.

Sounds like the issues some are having with the APR K04 tune are being worked out.

I may be mistaken, but I think the APR K04 is actually a hybrid using the K03 core machined to accept the K04 center section. So it bolts right up. The CTS kit is the "real" K04, "beautifully" adapted, that requires their downpipe.

This is what I assumed, that if the K04 bolted up to the stock downpipe that it should work with the eurocode one.

So, anyone have any feedback on the software they're running?

Not sure where you got this information from. At one point I thought I would need to replace the turbo in my APR K04 and they said its the same turbo in the S3. There don't do any modifications to it.

They are pretty vague on what they do to make it work, but now that I read it again they do say it's from that platform. I can't remember where I read about a hybrid before, but that's why I prefaced my statement with possibly being wrong. Guess they just clock it to fit the longitudinal platform.
