    Vacuum pump and the engine

So last night I took out my broken vacuum pump, but I did not reconnect the electrical lines to that chip in the back. Then this morning I go to start my car and the engine didn't even crank. Do those lines have anything to do with it or is there a bigger problem?

There's a big chip that is right over the vacuum pump, it's has three lines running into it that you have to disconnect to get to the vacuum pump. I have the v6 2.8L 30v.

You are talking about the vacuum pump that is in the lower passenger side of the engine bay, also called a secondary air pump, correct?

No the vacuum pump in the trunk that controls the central locking system

Ok so you are talking about the central locking pump. I still am not sure of what chip you are referring to. But regardless there should be nothing in that area that should stop the car from cranking if it is disconnected. If it won't crank over at all have you tried jumping it to rule out a dead battery?

I'm pretty sure its an anti theft thing so if you try to disable the locking system it shuts down
