    No High Beams?

Problem is my high beams do not work at all. I did search this problem and for all the results I found their high beams would work when pulling the stalk back and not when you push the stalk forward. Mine is different, they don't work in either position. I also do not get any indicator on the dash when I have the high beams on. Obvious thought would be the bulbs are bad but shouldn't I still be getting the indicator light on the dash if there wasn't any other issue? Car has been like this since I bought it 2 months ago so I don't have any background on how this started.

Halogen or bi-xenon? My first guess is that someone upgraded the car to bi-xenon and didn't hook up the high beam wires or hooked them up wrong. There is also Vagcom coding required if the car did not originally have bi-xenons.

    These are halogen.

Turns out the vagcom I bought when I had my mk6 GTI doesn't work on this platform as I found out the other day

I would still check the vagcom coding to see if maybe they were coded for a set of bixenons that the PO may have had in the car. Also, make sure to check your bulbs if you haven't already.

I had he same issue when i bought the car, not exactly sure what happen or what the previous owner did, but i used my vagcom to make my headlights work in European style and that brought back my high beams and don't ask me why/how but it worked for me.

More then likely they were coded for bi-xenons, probably the same thing happen to my car.

bumping my own old thread instead of making a new one

So I got my vagcom cable and I can't seem to fix the issue. Does anyone have any ideas what codes to try? The coding before I changed anything was '00003'. I switched it to '01001' to see if the euro headlights would work. That feature did work but the high beams still would not come on. I went into the Test Outputs function and I was able to get both highbeams to come on that way. Reminder, these are halogens. Thanks
