Has anyone done this on a S6? Picked up a kit a couple weeks ago and getting ready to do this. Crawled under the car today to check things out and make sure I had all the tools and it looks like the exhaust is going to make this a bit of challenge. Looks like you have to remove the exhaust piece on drivers side at a minimum? Looks like one of the pan bolts under the exhaust on the passenger side will be a bitch as well.
    BTDT?

I did it on mine when I had it it was quite a job and the exhaust is def in the way you have to unbolt it and lower it a bit so you can slide the pan out. mine took almost 11 quarts of oil as I drained the whole thing. Good Luck

I have a thread I just started about the transmissions. Mine is a 6HP-19.

Has lots of info. Also, I have the service manual for mine. let me know if you want the exact instructions.

I am very curious as to what fluid you use, whether it is ZF or A different brand.

The S6 has the Zf 6hp26A. The fluid isn't too hard to change, the filter is what makes it hard as the pan is above the exhaust and transmission mount depending on model.

The transmission should only take 10.53 quarts or 9.9 liters, you overfilled it if you put 11 quarts in.

Heres the exact manufacturer instructions that i recommend going by when doing the fluid change.

Did you unbolt both sides just past the tranny and then were able to move from there? I was thinking I might have to unbolt up by the cats........
    Thanks!

Thanks for link! This should be the easy part, just getting to the drain plug will be fun on the S6......
That's the drain under the black wire loom......

the reason mine took so much is because I lowered the Valve Body to chance the seal on the side (which is the same as the BMW ZF tranny has and it goes bad all the time) when my friend lowered the Valve Body another 2-3 quarts came out so my tranny was BONE DRY, I opened 11 bottles but I believe I used 10 and some change
