The Rule of Two seems to be pretty flexible in Star Wars canon. Even Darth Vader had an apprentice while still being an apprentice himself lol. And Palpatine had other Force users at his command. Of course, this is all from the Extended Universe in the books.

I haven't watch any Force Awakens trailers or celeb interviews at all. It seems that if I did, then it would just ruin the who experience. But, Disney is doing a helluva job promoting it and I saw some posters and stuff . All I know is there's going to be some spaceships, funky looking lightsabers, and a black doode.

Like Evilevo said. We went to iPic in Rockville on Saturday night and zero lines to go with awesome seats. I love being able to recline and they give you a pillow and blanket. It's the only theater we go to now

I think that the movie relied too heavily upon nostalgia. I was hoping for more fresh material.

As far as theories go, mine is that the rule of two no longer applies. If it ever truly did.

All in all, Abrams did a great job and can't wait for Episode VIII. Anybody read the books? Supposedly, Han and Leia had twins, but it does seem like Rey is Luke's daughter. The last scene was pretty cool, made me pumped to see the next one. Interwebz were a complaining how Kylo Ren got owned by two untrained kids, but he did get blasted in the leg, so there's that, lol. Anyways, after the prequel debacle, my faith has been restored

I have around 60 Star Wars books and they might as well get thrown in the fireplace (well, the ones set after episode 3 anyway)
Before Disney bought LucasFilm any books written were considered official Star Wars canon. But Disney punted that and basically stated that any stories after episode 3 would be "legends". So the Solo twins, and Luke's son who just so happened to be named Ben mean nothing now unfortunately.

As for Kylo Ren getting his ass handed to him, it was my biggest gripe and I think it's legitimate. He was trained by Luke himself, why is he fighting like a normal person? Finn should have been struck down in like 10 seconds. Ren did absolutely nothing physically to make you think he was a Jedi. No Force jumps, no unnatural speed. Yes he used Force pushes and pulls, but come on. EVERY fight between force users in all the other movies involved at least a good Force jump lol. All except for when Kenobi was struck down. No way he should have been that even with Finn who has shown almost no Force ability. The ONLY thing that would make me believe that he's Force-sensitive is his skill at shooting blasters on the Falcon
