    Maintenance after warranty

My 2013 S4 is coming up on the 50,000 mile mark. Just wondering if there were any hugely expensive maintenance issues to expect between 50 and 100k miles. I know there was a timing chain issue with the previous generation S4. Just want to get an idea of what to expect and if it would be worthwhile to do any prepaid maintenance.

Spark plugs at 55K. Supercharger belt and DSG service (if applicable) at 75K. Aside from that, nothing "major".

^This. Everything else (even brake fluid flushes) are not terribly expensive. Brakes are the only thing that can be pricey depending on what manufacturer you go with.

Curious, but why to the plugs need changing so soon? I've got a 2013 A4 with audicare and they just changed the plugs at 35K.

Because the s4 doesn't call for replacement til 55k unlike the a4 at 35k

So, for DSG owners is the 55 65 75 85k pre-pay service deal good? I bought the first one for mine because I didn't wanna pay the 35k service out of pocket, wondering now if the second one is cost-effective for the 75k?

generally you save a little bit by prepaying, especially on the DSG because the 75 is expensive.

you can prolly find a way to 'invest' that money and make more by the time you hit 75k, but i think that's getting away from your question.

My SA told me they changed the service plans. I have prepaid for the ones up to 50k but did not buy them going forward. I will just pay as I go but good information as I am 1100 miles away from the 55k service.

It's in groups of 2s now. I know for the a4 it's close to 900 per pair

well i just had my 55k done by a local indy shop and it cost me $590, i didnt have the time to do it myself so i forked out the money. . I think 65k is just oil change/filter and then 75k is the DSG fluid (if you have dsg) which can be expensive.

I dunno. Supercharged direct injection engine eats them up faster than normal cars, I guess.

Find yourself a good Indy shop too, will probably be cheaper than the dealer.
