    Lowered 2016 S7

I was able to get together with HyperS3, AKA Alex, at the dealership today and he did some VAG-COM programming of my S7. BTW, anyone in NJ or Tri-State area looking for an Audi should contact him, he is a true enthusiast and quite knowledgable on the brand.

1st, he lowered the car the maximum accepted within the system, which for my car was 15 mm at all corners. I will try and post pics by the end of the week because it has been raining here in NJ and was unable to take pics. I will say that the car looks 100% better, no longer SUV gaps between tire and fenders. I was a little concerned when driving home, as a message popped up saying Alert Suspension Too Low, Recalibrating, but this disappeared in seconds and the car has been trouble free after driving 60 miles tonight.

Huge improvement in body control after lowering. Not nearly as much lean, squat, or dive during slightly aggressive driving in Dynamic mode. Kind of eliminates the float and the car feels much more buttoned down.

Also had Alex program the gear indicator to say what gear I am in when in D or S mode, so now I get D1 to D7 or S1 to S7.

Most other relevant coding appears to be standard fair on the S7 from the factory.

Now for the APR tune possibly on Thursday, although I am concerned about the torque increase being too much for the 7 sp tranny. APR stage 1 brings torque to almost 600 lb/ft and Audi chose to not use the tranny in RS7 because of torque concerns. Any thoughts on this?

We Vag'ed my S6 to drop it and got it down to -17mm. You can probably go a little lower. As for the tune, I think youre overthinking it. I got the APR stage 1 tune and have zero issues. It is a MUST have in my book! Im considering doing the APR TCU tune soon as well.

I've had the GIAC cpu and tcu tune on my S7 for awhile now. It's the best mod you can do! No problems!

To help set your mind at ease go with the APR TCU at the same time. It helps compensate for the added HP per APR. I did both this past Monday and love it! APR has a sale going on right now for both tunes so DO IT NOW!

Thats what I was reading last night. Gotta find the money though. New car with too many parts on the wish list!
