    2004 allroad 2.7t wheel spacers/bolts

Hey guys, I just bought my allroad and the original owner gave me a set of winter wheels. I was taking my stock ones off to see if these ones fit and it turns out I need spacers. The winter wheels are about half an inch wider than my stock ones. so thats equivalent to about 12mm? So I have a couple questions.

First, should I go with 12.5 mm spacers to make the wheels flush, or go up to 15 or 20 mm? pros and cons of going bigger?

Second, I know this sounds stupid but I totally forgot to look at my wheel bolts so I don't know if I have conical bolts or ball seat bolts. Does anyone know what bolts 2004 allroads come with? I would look for myself but I am in college and my car is sitting at home currently.

I plan on getting the ECS tuning wheel spacers.

Thanks guys, Im really in the dark here.

i just ordered 12 m14 x 1.5 bolts for our cars, 2.95 a bolt i think from europa parts. to be honest i forgot if they are conical or ball but if you look on their page, you will find it very easy. and for spacers id go with the 12mm. what is your problem, the wheel offset, or spoke design or both? usually a narrower wheel is better for winter driving. and are these oem wheels or some aftermarkets?

I probably sound dumb but I'm not sure. The wheels are from a 8 cylinder allroad. So still made by audi. The problem should be wheel offset? I put it on and the wheel hits the inside suspension or something before I can even get the wheel on the hub. And the ECS tuning spacers come with appropriate size bolts.

Probably wrong offset. Yea looks like spacers are your only choice. stick with the reputable companies.. i think H&R makes some good ones. Think 12mm is okay, If you go too big, might rub wheel on fender.

The width of the wheel does not necessarily mean you need spacers. If the winters are off of a V8 allroad, just look under the center cap or on the back side of the wheel for the dimensions of the wheel (something like 8Jx18) and the offset (ET35). Check the other set of wheels and compare. If the ETxx number is the same you don't need spacers.
The only time you need spacers is when the spokes of the wheel hit the brake caliper.

All Audi wheels will use ball seat lug bolts. Most all aftermarket/replica wheels use cone seat lugs.
Be sure to get the correct length lugs if you get spacers. Google will tell you how to measure.
