    What's up guys-

I drive a B8 A5 that came with Halogens. The first thing I did was put a nice set of HID's on them which work AMAZING, but I really wanted the DRL's so I recently bought a set of E-Codes from a fellow AZ member (thank you for the amazing deal). The set is missing (1) ballast and (1) bulb; which isn't that big of a deal as I have access to replacements at a dime a dozen.

My question though is..... Is there anyway within reason to not use the OEM ballasts and bulbs and somehow continue to use the setup I'm running from my old Halogens in the new housing; but also use the DRLs?

...If not, I'm going to have to invest again in the color temp of my liking on the new set; which isn't a big deal but if I don't have to.. why do it?

Chances are you purchased an aftermarket HID system for your originally halogen headlights, correct? If so, the system is not the same as an OEM system, so no, I do not believe you will be able to use your aftermarket HID system with original ecodes. You will have to look into retrofitting the ecodes to your car, and complete the set by finding the missing OEM ballast and bulb.
